Uncollected solid wastes lie scattered on the roads and lanes of the capital everyday hindering pedestrians’ movement and causing environment pollution and health hazard. Dhaka city generates approximately 5,500 tons of wastes per day. And nearly 3,800 tons of solid wastes are left unattended by the Dhaka South City Corporation and the Dhaka North City Corporation. At Badda Notun Bazar near the US Embassy, three men were seen loading a truck with roadside dumped wastes. And the dustbin occupied a big portion of the main road.
